Daniel Hurley

Head of Engineering at geCKo Materials

Daniel Hurley has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Daniel is currently working as the Head of Engineering at geCKo Materials since 2023. Before that, they served as the Vice President at Iron Therapy Inc. starting from 2018. In 2016, they held two roles at Santa Monica College as a Veterans Resource Center Representative and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in accounting. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2016, they were in the United States Marine Corps where they held various positions such as Reservist, Platoon Sergeant, Advanced Tactics Instructor, Section/Squad Leader, and Team Leader. Their responsibilities in the Marine Corps included managing personnel, conducting training exercises with allied nations, instructing leadership courses, and leading teams in combat operations.

Daniel Hurley has a diverse education history. Daniel obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, which they completed from 2020 to 2022. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the same university, majoring in Science, Technology, and Society with a focus on Mechanical Engineering. This bachelor's degree was completed over the period of 2017 to 2020.

In 2015, Daniel attended Santa Monica College, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration, which they completed in 2017. Before that, they studied Civil Engineering at Erie Community College from 2000 to 2002.

Daniel also obtained a Certificate in Military and Strategic Leadership from Marine Corps University in 2009. Additionally, they hold Lean Six Sigma certifications from the United States Department of Defense, including a White Belt and a Yellow Belt, although the dates of completion for these certifications were not provided.
