Carson May

Carson May has work experience in various fields including Data Science, Graduate Research, Teaching, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Planning. Carson started their career as a Master Planning Intern at Redstone Arsenal in 2014 and later worked as an intern for the Mayor's office in the City of Huntsville in 2015. Carson gained research experience as an undergraduate research assistant at Auburn University, where they built models to test the correlation between student DAS and lifestyle. In 2016, they interned at HP, where they conducted machine learning research and automated data transfer systems. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a BI Analyst at IBM, where they built models to predict machine failure and worked with clients to design accessible databases. Carson gained teaching experience as a Computer Science and Math Instructor at Teach For America from 2019 to 2022. Most recently, they started working as a Data Scientist at Geeks and Nerds (GaN Corporation) in 2023.

Carson May obtained their Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics and Computer Science from Auburn University between 2013 and 2017. Carson is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science from The Johns Hopkins University, which they are expected to complete between 2022 and 2024. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from IBM, including Aerospace and Defense Industry Foundations, Cognitive Practitioner, Deep Learning, Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner, IBM Blockchain Essentials, and Watson Analytics.
