Akana Jayewardene

Akana Jayewardene is a Strategist & Designer II at Gehl - Making Cities for People since January 2023. Previously, Akana worked as a Freelance Design Consultant for Google R+D for the Built Environment and held positions as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles. Experience includes roles as an Architectural Designer at Limestone Designs and MICD Associates, and a Designer at Kuth / Ranieri Architects, where Akana also completed an internship. Akana holds a Master’s of Architecture in Architecture and Urban Design from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Community Design from the University of San Francisco.
