Alex Shabad

Alex Shabad is a communications professional with a diverse background in storytelling, journalism, and strategic communication. Currently, Alex serves as the Manager of Communications Strategy and Execution for Corporate Initiatives at GEICO, a position held since October 2024. Prior to this role, Alex was the Communications Manager at BradyPLUS from July 2021 to October 2024, where an integrated storytelling strategy was developed to engage a broad audience and achieve substantial growth in content engagement. A strong journalism foundation was built during tenures at WCNC Charlotte as an Investigative Reporter/Multimedia Journalist from 2017 to 2021, earning recognition for an Emmy-nominated report, and at 13 ON YOUR SIDE from 2011 to 2017, where regional Emmy nominations were also received. Early career experiences include reporting roles at WTVO-TV/WQRF-TV and 14 WFIE, as well as producing at KJCT-TV. Alex holds a degree from the University of Iowa, completed in 2005.
