Behailu Bekera

Behailu Bekera, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of AI/ML at GEICO since May 2019, after progressing through various managerial roles within the company. Prior to GEICO, Behailu held the position of Senior Data Scientist at CEB, now Gartner, and worked as a Data Scientist at Accenture. Behailu began a career in systems engineering at The George Washington University, where a Ph.D. was conferred in Systems Engineering/Operations Research. Additionally, a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Computer Science and Mathematics, and a minor in Economics, was obtained from Westminster University, along with a High School Diploma from Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa.
