Samantha Astles has worked in the field of industrial design since 2016. In 2018, they began working as an External Designer and Industrial Designer at Umbra. In 2019, they worked as a Graphic and Packaging Designer at Naturally Vain Corp. In 2020, they were a UX Designer at IBM and a UX Research and Designer at Logitech and Carleton University. Samantha also worked as an Industrial Design Research Assistant at NRC & DLR and as an Industrial Designer at ANCORD Design Co. and Dymech Engineering. In 2021, they were a UX and Product Designer at Bruyère and is currently an Industrial Designer at Gembah. Throughout their career, they have conducted design research, hosted workshops, developed graphics and packaging solutions, explored new concepts, and designed products for various clients.
Samantha Astles has a Bachelor's of Industrial Design from Carleton University, which they obtained between 2014 and 2019. Samantha specialized in Industrial and Product Design. Samantha is currently pursuing a Masters of Human Computer Interaction from Carleton University, which they began in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2022. Samantha has also obtained certifications from IBM and Javelin Technologies. These include Enterprise Design Thinking - Team Essentials for AI, Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator, Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM, and an Advance Solidworks Certificate from Javelin Technologies.
