Jorrit Dortland is a policy advisor on energy transition and sustainability at the Municipality of IJsselstein since April 2019, representing the municipality in the Regional Energy Strategy (RES) in response to the National Climate Agreement. Prior experience includes a trainee position at HAMK (Häme University of Applied Sciences) in 2017, conducting a study on the effect of biochar on garden waste composting, and a trainee role at the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, where a study focused on the use of crop protection products on football fields. Jorrit holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Sciences from Has University of Applied Sciences (2014-2018) and completed Higher General Secondary Education at Hoogelandt College (2008-2014).
