Sumarie Nel has a diverse work experience. Sumarie currently works as a Content and blog writer at GemFind Digital Solutions since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Search Engine Optimization Consultant from August 2021 onwards. In 2020, Sumarie founded their own company, The Writer Me, where they held multiple roles such as Founder and CEO, Author/Owner, Freelance Writer, and Social Media Marketing Specialist. During the same year, they also worked as a Freelance Copywriter at Upwork and as a Social Media Representative at Chasing Dreams Publishing. Sumarie also started their career as a Book Author and later worked as an Entertainment Journalist at Gamers Decide from April 2021 to October 2021. Their earliest known work experience was as a Social Media Director at CLASSIC ORIENTAL TRADING 631CC, where they worked from January 2012 to October 2021.

Sumarie Nel completed their high school education at Hoërskool Hugenote from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Grade 11 degree. In addition to their high school education, Sumarie has acquired additional certifications. In April 2014, they received a business certificate in Human Resources from College SA. Furthermore, in June 2023, Sumarie obtained a Basic Theory of Creative Writing certification from Alison.
