Scott Young

Scott Young has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Scott is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Gemini Bakery Equipment Company/KB Systems since August 2021. In addition, they are also a member of Vistage Worldwide, Inc., a CEO advisory and executive coaching organization since January 2022.

Before their current roles, Scott held several positions at Wegmans Food Markets, including Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety from September 2020 to August 2021, Director of Bakeshop Operations from 2011 to September 2020, and Director of Manufacturing Engineering & Bakeshop Services from 2003 to 2011.

Prior to Wegmans, they worked at American Superconductor as a Focus Factory Manager responsible for the overall operation of the Deformation/Heat Treatment Factory and played a key role in the commissioning and transition of production. Scott was also part of the initial group of leaders to complete Six Sigma Black Belt training at the company.

Earlier in their career, Scott worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Philips Lighting, where they provided engineering support for the Phosphor production factory and implemented continuous improvement initiatives using Shainin Statistical Engineering methods. Scott also served as a Mechanical Engineer at Alcoa from 1991 to 1997.

Scott Young has an educational background in mechanical engineering and physics. From 1990 to 1992, they attended Clarkson University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Scott then went on to attend Roberts Wesleyan University from 1987 to 1990, where they earned another Bachelor of Science degree, this time in Physics. In 2011 to 2012, Scott obtained a certificate in Contract Administration from Cornell University ILR School. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Six Sigma Black Belt from Quality & Productivity Solutions, Inc. in 2001, and Red X Journeyman Training from Shainin - The Red X Company in 1998.
