Elena Sabbi

Elena Sabbi currently serves as Chief Scientist at Gemini Observatory, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Elena accumulated extensive experience at Space Telescope Science Institute, where tenure began in 2008 and included positions such as Deputy Head of the Science Mission Office, NIRSpec Branch Manager, WFC3 Branch Manager, and Assistant Astronomer. Additionally, Elena worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Astronomisches Rechen-Institut from 2007 to 2008 and at Space Telescope Science Institute from 2005 to 2007.
