Jonathan Hoey

Jonathan Hoey is an experienced educator in media and film, currently serving as an Examiner for the International Baccalaureate since February 2020. As the Head of Media & Film at GEMS Wellington International School since August 2017, Jonathan oversees courses including International Baccalaureate Film, GCSE Media Studies, Level 2 and Level 3 BTEC Creative Media Production, and serves as a Theory of Knowledge (IBDP) teacher, Extended Essay Supervisor, and CAS Supervisor. Additionally, Jonathan has been involved with The PiXL Club since December 2017, producing teaching resources. Previously, Jonathan held the position of Head of Media & Film at The Brakenhale School from September 2013 to August 2017, teaching various media and film courses. Jonathan holds a PGCE in Media & Film from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies from Lancaster University.
