Colt Ramsden has worked in the software development industry since 2003. From 2003 to 2014, they worked at Sam Houston State University as a Web Application Developer/Analyst and Student Programmer. In this role, they led development of a web-based continuous assessment tool, developed various other web applications, and designed and built both real-time and batch custom interfaces between home-grown applications, third-party products and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In 2014, they joined CompanionDx Reference Lab, LLC as a Web Application Developer/LIMS Developer. Here, they worked in a collaborative start-up atmosphere alongside other developers, lab analysts, and quality control technicians in direct consultation with the Chief Scientific Officer of the company. Colt designed and built a clinical trial registry that integrates both with existing third-party registry software and the CompanionDx web portal. Colt also rewrote legacy LIMS patient report generation code to remove errors and speed up report generation by an order of magnitude. In 2015, they joined Gene by Gene as a Senior LIMS Developer/Technical Lead. In this role, they managed a small development team, defined coding conventions, researched new technologies, trained new team members, and ensured adherence to company policy and procedures. Colt also provided on-call support for production lab systems and designed and developed a custom LIMS using.
