Jens Reeder

Jens Reeder is an accomplished professional in bioinformatics with extensive experience at Genentech, where a long-term strategy to enhance the impact of genomic data on patient life has been developed and executed. As Director of Bioinformatics since 2010, key initiatives include implementing informatics strategies for discovering new therapeutic modalities and establishing FAIR data management practices. Previous roles as Senior Bioinformatics Software Engineer and Group Lead involved scaling genomics data platforms and leading multiple performance-focused software teams. Early experience includes a Postdoctoral position at the University of Colorado at Boulder, focusing on computational analysis and contributing to the QIIME project, as well as a PhD in Computer Science/Bioinformatics from Bielefeld University, where significant RNA bioinformatics research was conducted.
