Spencer Charles Knight

Spencer Charles Knight has worked in various roles within the life sciences industry. Spencer Charles began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota in 2008. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at UC Berkeley, where they worked as a Graduate Research Fellow and Graduate Student Instructor from 2012 to 2017. Following this, they joined Foresite Capital as a Data Scientist from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, they joined Ancestry as a Senior Genomic Data Scientist in Computational Biology until 2021. From 2021 to 2022, they served as the Senior Director and Head of Computational Biology at Kriya Therapeutics. Spencer Charles then moved on to Algen Biotechnologies, where they held the positions of Technical Advisor and Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder from 2018 to 2019. Currently, Spencer is working as the Director of Life Sciences Research at General Atlantic since 2023.

Spencer Charles Knight began their educational journey in 2008 at the University of Minnesota, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Spencer Charles successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2012. Following this, they enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2012 to pursue a higher level of education. Spencer dedicated five years to their studies at Berkeley and attained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry in 2017.
