Kirk Sims

Kirk Sims is a seasoned consultant and theological educator currently working with the General Board of Global Ministries since July 2022, and has been a clergy member with the North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church since June 1999. Previous roles include serving as a consultant at Asbury Theological Seminary from July 2021 to June 2022, and as an associate professor and academic program coordinator for Intercultural Studies at Asbury University from July 2016 to June 2021, where Kirk led significant growth in the program and revised its curriculum. Additional experience comprises positions such as European regional consultant and Ghana field leader for The Mission Society, and pastoral roles at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and Berlin United Methodist Church. Kirk holds a PhD in Mission Studies from Middlesex University and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
