Dean Buckley

Dean Buckley is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in shipbuilding and operations management. Currently serving as Area Manager and Ships Superintendent at General Dynamics since March 2019, Dean oversees work conducted according to contractual specifications, directs production schedules, manages costs, and coordinates subcontractors to ensure project milestones are achieved. Previously, as Operations Superintendent at Lyon Shipyard, Inc., Dean managed deck plate operations, work teams, and contractors, while resolving daily issues between customers and staff. Dean's career began at Newport News Shipbuilding, where roles included General Foreman, responsible for the propulsion plants of submarines, and Production Foreman, focusing on testing and managing teams. Dean holds a journeyman certificate in Pipefitting and Sprinkler Fitting from Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School and has a background in Technology Teacher Education from East Tennessee State University.
