Barbara Seymour

Barbara Seymour has extensive work experience in the biotechnology industry. Barbara is currently serving as the Vice President of Technical Operations at Generation Bio since June 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology at Rubius Therapeutics from July 2018 to March 2020. Barbara also served as the Head of Manufacturing at Unum Therapeutics from September 2015 to July 2018 and as the Director of Process Development at Vericel Corporation from May 2014 to September 2015. Barbara has also worked at Genzyme, where they held the roles of Director of Process Development/Engineering from 2008 to 2014 and Director of Manufacturing from April 2005 to April 2008. Barbara began their career at BioSurface Technology as a Manufacturing Supervisor from 1989 to 1994.

Barbara Seymour holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Biomedical Science from Framingham State University, which they obtained from 1982 to 1986. Barbara further pursued their education at Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Operations Management and Systems Design from 1997 to 2002. Moreover, Barbara also completed a Project Management Professional certification from Project Management Institute in 2012.
