Shane Flannelly-King

Associate Director R&d Informatics at Generation Bio

Shane Flannelly-King has extensive experience in the field of IT and informatics, particularly within the healthcare and research sectors. Shane is currently working as an Associate Director of R&D Informatics at Generation Bio since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Bioverativ, a Sanofi company, where they held various roles. From 2018 to 2019, they served as an IT Lead, responsible for driving the Research IT strategic vision and managing the Research IT portfolio. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Analyst, developing and implementing a cloud-first IT strategy for the Research group.

Before joining Bioverativ, Shane worked at Biogen for several years. Shane held the position of Senior Business Analyst, R&D IT from 2015 to 2017, where they developed a cross Research LIMS roadmap and coordinated infrastructure enhancements for cellular imaging data. Prior to this, they served as a Business Analyst, R&D IT from 2011 to 2015, leading a team in the upgrade and merger of NuGenesis SDMS environments and validating a GLP Bioanalytical LIMS. Shane also participated in the selection and validation of an enterprise ELN. In 2010, they worked as an Associate III, Data Systems Management, implementing and validating analytical data systems. Shane started their career at Biogen as an Associate Scientist I, Study Data Management from 2007 to 2010.

Shane Flannelly-King began their education at Harvard University in 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies with a focus on Natural Sciences. Shane successfully completed this degree in 2005. Following this, Shane continued their studies at Harvard and from 2007 to 2013 they were an applicant to the degree of Master of Liberal Arts in Biology.
