Alasdair Henry is an economic modeller and senior market access scientist who has worked in the field of medical research for over seven years. Alasdair is currently employed at Genesis Research, where they have been working for the past year and a half. Prior to this, they worked at SIRIUS Market Access for three years, where they held the positions of economic modeller and senior market access scientist, as well as medical writer and life science research analyst.
Before embarking on their career in medical research, Alasdair completed a PhD in biomedical sciences at the University of Glasgow, where they researched the different changes in estrogen signalling that occur in obesity and how this relates to pulmonary hypertension in males and females. Alasdair has also worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Strathclyde, where they studied the role of intracellular Ca(2+) on the arrhythmogenic activity of pulmonary vein cardiomyoctes.
Alasdair’s main skills include protein extraction, primary tissue culture, project management, and scientific writing. Alasdair has also been involved in public engagement and teaching, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. Alasdair has presented their work at national and international conferences, and has authored several papers that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
Alasdair Henry has a Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde in cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, a Master of Research from the University of Glasgow in biomedical sciences, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in physiology.
