Genesis Therapeutics is pioneering artificial intelligence guided rational drug design to address severe unmet medical needs for patients. Our San Diego site is looking for a motivated and experienced immunologist to guide and execute on drug discovery efforts from hit identification to IND-enabling studies on small molecule projects. The successful candidate will have project leadership experience and an intimate understanding of biochemical and cellular assays and animal models of autoimmune disease indications.   This is a full-time position in a fast-paced biotech environment with a collegial group of highly productive colleagues working towards well-defined goals. What You Will Do - Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead small molecule drug discovery projects from hit identification through cellular validation, hit-to-lead and lead optimization into IND enabling studies
  • Design, develop and execute on biochemical and cellular assays together with a small group of associates to support short SAR cycles and fast compound progression
  • Identify CROs with suitable animal models to demonstrate in vivo PD and efficacy of compounds
  • Collaborate closely with multiple groups within the organization including Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry, DMPK, CADD, Structural Biology etc.

What you’ll bring

  • PhD in Immunology or a related field
  • 7+ years of biotech/pharma experience
  • Critical thinking, excellent analytical skills and focus in execution
  • Experience with immunological methods such as flow cytometry, cytokine analysis and primary cell assays
  • Deep understanding of disease biology in autoimmune and inflammatory indications
  • Track record of project leadership from hit generation to DC in a small molecule program
  • Managerial experience and excellent interpersonal/communication skills

  • Translational models for autoimmune indications including whole blood assays
  • Biomarker identification and development
  • Experience with various -omics approaches and data mining
