John Arens

John Arens is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in the financial technology sector, currently serving as a Senior FPGA Engineer at Geneva Trading. Arens has a strong background in developing ultra-low latency trading platforms and high-performance systems using FPGA technology, with previous roles at AMD as a DSP Specialist FAE and at Simplex Investments as an FPGA Engineer. With significant contributions to high-speed trading engines, quantitative analysis infrastructure, and algorithmic trading models, Arens has also held positions as a quant trader and principal design engineer across various companies, including Getco LLC, The Climate Corporation, and Actel Corporation, where expertise in hardware design and systems integration was established. Arens holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
