Spencer Hoover

A trained virologist and former Director of Process and Analytical Development at CCRM (Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine), Spencer is an independent consultant, expert in process and analytical development in cell and gene therapies. Prior to consulting, Spencer led teams in lentiviral upstream and downstream process development, with a focus on building robust and reliable analytics while drawing on his training as a virologist. Spencer’s experience building highly complex FDA-cleared molecular diagnostics for viral and bacterial pathogens at Luminex paired with his PhD in microbiology and postdoctoral training in chemical engineering at the University of Wisconsin, are at the foundation of his approach to problem-solving in cell and gene therapies.
