Claire Hart

Claire Hart is the current General Counsel & Head of Legal & Business Affairs at Genies. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President at Blizzard Entertainment from July 2018 to September 2021. In this role, they provided strategic guidance on key legal issues such as data security and privacy, intellectual property, consumer protection, litigation, employment, compliance, antitrust, and accessibility. Claire also collaborated with developers to find innovative solutions to legal challenges across all products.

Before Blizzard Entertainment, Hart worked at Google for 10 years from February 2008 to July 2018. Claire started as a Senior Associate and eventually became the Director of Google Play, NBU, Jigsaw, & Giving (Google.org & Social Good) Legal. During their time at Google, they were responsible for leading and sponsoring company-wide initiatives promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture. Claire also led crisis management response for COVID-19.

Hart began their career as a Senior Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from September 2002 to February 2008.

Claire Hart completed their undergraduate degree at DePauw University, where they studied English Writing. Claire then went on to complete their Juris Doctor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, cum laude.
