Robert Byrne

Robert Byrne is a seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in quality assurance and compliance. Currently serving as the Vice President and Head of Global Quality at Genmab since August 2025, Robert previously held multiple leadership roles at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, including Executive Director positions overseeing Global Quality Systems and GxP Compliance. Robert's early career includes quality assurance leadership at Genzyme and Baxter, as well as a role as Pharmaceutical Assessor at the Irish Medicines Board. Holding a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics and an MBA, Robert possesses a comprehensive educational background complemented by practical experience in various quality assurance and regulatory functions throughout his career.
