Buddhisha Udugama

Buddhisha Udugama has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Since 2020, Buddhisha has been working at GenMark Diagnostics, where they started as a Scientist in Assay Development. They then progressed to the role of Senior Scientist/Tech Dev Lead before becoming the Manager of Assay Development in March 2023.

Prior to their time at GenMark Diagnostics, Buddhisha worked at the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2020. During this time, they served as a Graduate Researcher in their doctoral program and also held teaching assistant positions for courses related to Biomolecules and Cells, as well as Biomedical Engineering Technology and Investigation.

In 2018, Buddhisha gained consulting experience at University Consulting Group (UCG), where they held the position of Engagement Manager/Consultant for a year.

Additionally, Buddhisha's work experience includes being a Researcher at the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2012, during their undergraduate studies.

Buddhisha Udugama pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from 2014 to 2020 at the University of Toronto. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2013, Buddhisha completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
