Peter Serpentino

Vice President Business Development at GenMark Diagnostics

Peter Serpentino has extensive experience in the healthcare and medical diagnostics industry. Peter currently holds the position of Vice President of Business Development at GenMark Diagnostics since July 2020. Prior to this role, they had a long tenure at Agilent Technologies, where they served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Genomics Division from November 2014 to July 2020. Additionally, at Agilent Technologies, they held a role as the Vice President of R&D from May 2014 to July 2020. Before joining Agilent Technologies, Peter worked at GE Healthcare as the Global Head of R&D for Life Sciences, where they began in 2008 and held this position until December 2009. Peter also served in the GE Global Research - Healthcare Business Program Office from December 2009. Preceding their time at GE Healthcare, they were the Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Bayer Healthcare from April 2006 to June 2008. Prior to that, they worked at Philips Medical Systems as the Director of Molecular Diagnostics from January 2004 to April 2006. Peter's career began at Becton Dickinson in 1994, where they were the Director of Global R&D until 2006. Peter also held leadership positions at Ambion Diagnostics as the EVP from 2000 to 2002, and at Kimberly-Clark as a Senior Manager from 1987 to 1996.

Peter Serpentino attended Mount Saint Michael's Academy for their secondary education. Peter then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. John's University. Following this, Peter pursued further education and obtained a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from the University of Rochester.
