Loukas Moutsianas is the Head of Bioinformatics Research Services at Genomics England since October 2018. Previously, Loukas served as a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London from October 2018 to September 2021 and held roles at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute as a Senior Staff Scientist and Senior Post-doctoral Researcher from September 2015 to September 2018. Prior experience includes a position as a Senior Statistical Geneticist at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford, from January 2011 to July 2015, focusing on the analysis of whole exome sequencing and whole genome sequencing data, as well as complex trait genomics related to multiple sclerosis. Loukas holds a DPhil in Statistics from the University of Oxford, a degree in Computational Biology from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
