Michael Bodziner

As the Chief Human Resources Officer of Gensler, Michael brings deep experience through his 37-year tenure with the firm. In this role, Michael leads with a clear vision about team member experience and with an unwavering focus on relationships and outcomes that will benefit our global talent. Michael has established a long track record for practice excellence and earned a reputation for building our people and culture. He is recognized as an early champion and author of some of the firm’s initial people-first programs.

His career at Gensler spans unique experiences, including co-founding Gensler’s Retail practice, mashing up design influences drawn from theater, hospitality, residential, commercial interiors, and architecture. In his past roles as a Studio Director and a Human Resource Director for the Northwest region, he has been driven by a people-centric focus, and in 2020, his involvement in providing leadership to Gensler’s Co-CEO Hub helped expertly guide the firm through unprecedented times.

Michael has served as a Board Member for SEGD and Advisory Board Member for VMSD magazine and has also lectured at California College of Arts and Crafts and Savannah College of Art and Design. Michael holds a B.A. from Boston University and a B.F.A. from the California College of the Arts.
