Head, Civil Engineering

Job Summary: In this role, you will oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure for renewable energy projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Lead the civil engineering activities for wind and solar projects for the Company. Possess capability and temperament to work and deliver as an individual contributor. The incumbent must possess thorough knowledge of structural engineering foundation design, material science and civil construction;
• Develop and implement strategic plans for civil engineering projects;
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. 

 Project Oversight 

• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects related to renewable energy, including wind farms, solar power plants;
• Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success;
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. 

Quality & Safety 

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure high standards of construction and maintenance;
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure all projects comply with safety regulations;
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits. 

Innovation & Sustainability 

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in civil engineering and renewable energy technologies;
• Promote innovative solutions and sustainable practices in all projects;
• Collaborate with research and development teams to integrate new technologies.  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a premier institute;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering in the Indian power sector;
• Proven experience in engineering large-scale renewable energy projects;
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent certification;
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, best practices, environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies;
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders;
• Willingness to travel and spend extensive time at sites to monitor construction activities by the EPC contractors.
