Phillip Nguyen

Chief Partnerships Officer at GENup

Phillip Nguyen's work experience includes being an NSLI-Y Alumni Association Representative for the American Councils for International Education, where they virtually represent over 9,000 NSLI-Y alumni and coordinates outreach strategies. Phillip is also the Chief Partnerships Officer at GENup and has previously served as the Director of Partnerships. Additionally, Phillip has held various roles within UNICEF, including Club Vice President, Club Secretary, and Club Advocacy Director. Phillip has been selected as a Mandarin Chinese Scholar for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) and has studied both abroad in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and virtually with teachers from Chengdu. Furthermore, Phillip has been an APYLP Scholar with the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project and a Young Senator in the California State Senate.

Phillip Nguyen is currently attending Bolsa Grande High School from 2020 to 2024, working towards earning their High School Diploma. Phillip is also enrolled in concurrent enrollment at Irvine Valley College from 2022 to 2024. In 2022, Phillip participated in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth program, where they studied at Sichuan Normal University in China. In 2023, they attended Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages as a part of the same program. Additionally, Phillip has obtained certifications such as the NSLI-Y Abroad Certificate of Completion and the NSLI-Y VSI Certificate of Completion from the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y). Phillip also holds a Mandarin Chinese Oral Proficiency - Intermediate Mid certification from ACTFL and a Global Competence Certificate from AFS Intercultural Programs USA.
