Michal Malinowski is a Senior Scientist at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) since January 2021 and holds the title of Professor at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences, starting in the same year. Previously, Michal served as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Geophysical Imaging at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences from February 2001 to January 2021, following an Assistant Professor role specializing in seismic data processing, modeling, and interpretation. Michal began the academic career as a Research Assistant and Visiting Fellow at the Geological Survey of Canada, focusing on high-resolution seismic data processing and interpretation in 2007-2008. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences and an MSc in exploration geophysics obtained from AGH University of Krakow between 1996 and 2000.
