Mikael Vasilopoulos is a postdoctoral researcher at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) since November 2023, following a doctoral researcher position at the University of Oulu from 2017 to 2023, where research focused on the formation history of Au-rich hydrothermal deposits in northern Finland. Previous experience includes roles as a geologist trainee and research trainee at GTK, contributing to bedrock mapping and research related to the Juomasuo Au-Co deposit. Mikael also served as a research assistant at the University of Athens, conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment study. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy and a Master’s degree in the same field from the University of Oulu, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
