Conrad Lautenbacher

Executive Chairman and Director at GeoOptics

Conrad Lautenbacher began their work experience in 1997 when they were appointed Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (N-8) for the U.S. Navy. In 2001, they took on the role of Undersecretary of Commerce, NOAA Administrator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. Conrad also became CEO and President of the Consortium for Oceanographic Research and Education (CORE) in the same year. In 2003, they were appointed US Representative for GEO. From 2006-2008, they were a member of the American Meteorological Society and the American Geophysical Union. In 2009, they became Vice President, Science Programs, ATG for CSC, working in Business Development and Capture to build the Earth Sciences Services and Applications portion of the CSC portfolio. In 2012, they were appointed Executive Chairman and Director of GeoOptics Inc.

Conrad Lautenbacher attended Central High School, Phila. PA from 1956 to 1960, where they received a BA in Advanced Class. Conrad then attended the U.S.Naval Academy from 1960 to 1964, where they received a BS in Mathematics and Physics. Finally, they attended Harvard University from 1964 to 1968, where they received a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics.
