Michael Burtov

Michael Burtov has had a long and varied career in entrepreneurship and business. In 2021, they began their current role as an Entrepreneurship Fellow at Florida International University. Previously, they were the Founder & CEO of GeoOrbital from 2014-2020, as well as the Author of 'The Evergreen Startup: The Entrepreneur's Playbook for everything from VC to EC' in 2020. From 2017-2020, they were an Instructor and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge. From 2010-2011, they were the Founder of Hypercritical, where they worked with hundreds of startup companies to catalyze growth and fundraising, and also held regular open office hours to advise aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. In 2011, they were the Advisor and Founder & CEO of Cangrade, and in 2009 they were the Founder & CEO of Ony Group and worked in OTC Credit Derivatives at both RBS and UBS Investment Bank. Finally, in 2008 they were the Co-Founder & Business Development Director of Fortunesmith.

Michael Burtov obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Brandeis University between 1999 and 2002. Michael then went on to receive an M.S. in International Economics from Southern New Hampshire University between 2005 and 2006.
