Jorge Salem Suito has worked in a variety of roles since 2007. From 2007 to 2012 they were the Business Development Manager for Friendship Bridge. From 2012 to 2019 they were the Local Procurement Coordinator and Buyer for Anglo American. In 2016 they worked as a Researcher at the Columbia Center of Sustainable Investment, researching the underlying reasons for water-related social conflict in the mining industry in Peru and suggesting policy and company's approach improvements. In 2018 they were the Political Risk Analyst- Latin America Lead for Geoquant, and the Construction Industry Analyst - ESG Division for MSCI Inc. In 2019 they were the General Superintendent in Social Management for Antamina and a Mining Consultant for American Market Intelligence.

Jorge Salem Suito completed a Bachelor of Arts from Maastricht University in 2005, studying International Political Economy. Jorge then attended Colorado College from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachiller in Economía Política Internacional. In 2015, they completed a High Specialization Program from Universidad ESAN, focusing on Supply Chain in Mining with a focus on social and environmental management. Jorge then earned a Master of Public Administration - MPA from Columbia University in 2018, studying Development Practice. Prior to this, they completed an International Baccalaureate from Markham College between 1990 and 2002.
