Karen Walker

Internship Supervisor

Karen Walker is an accomplished educator and executive with extensive experience in providing specialized services for individuals with visual impairments and other disabilities. As the Owner and CEO of Allied Instructional Services since March 2010, Karen oversees a range of services including orientation and mobility instruction, braille transcription, and assistive technology training for public and private schools, hospitals, and state agencies. In addition to this role, Karen serves as an Internship Supervisor at George Mason University and is the Executive Director of Able Artists Gallery/EnhanceAbility. Previous positions include tenure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Orientation and Mobility Instructor in various educational settings. Karen holds a Master's degree in Special Education from Florida State University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments.
