Jian-Xun Wang

Jian-Xun Wang currently serves as an Associate Professor at Cornell University since July 2025. Prior to this role, Jian-Xun Wang was the Robert W. Huether Collegiate Associate Professor in Aerospace Engineering and Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame from July 2018 to July 2025. Jian-Xun Wang has also held the position of Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2017 to August 2018. Earlier academic experience includes serving as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech from August 2013 to May 2017. Jian-Xun Wang earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech between 2013 and 2017. Additional academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, along with completion of high school at Taiyuan No.5 Middle School with a focus on Science.
