Janice Szymanski

Assistant Vice President, Planning & Capital Projects

Janice Szymanski, AIA, currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Planning & Capital Projects at Georgetown University, leading teams responsible for campus planning, design, and construction. Prior to this role, Janice was the Chief of Facilities Services & Capital Programs for Fairfax County Public Schools, managing a team of over 650 staff and 28 million square feet of facilities. Janice has extensive experience in public education, having held positions such as Executive Program Manager for DC Public Schools’ Large Capital Projects and Director of Facility Planning & Design. Early professional experience includes roles at architectural firms such as Grimm + Parker Architects and internships that spanned various design phases for educational and residential projects. Janice holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.
