Dorie Bacon

Dorie Bacon is a seasoned economic development professional with extensive experience across various leadership roles, currently serving as Senior Project Manager for Region 12 at the Georgia Department of Economic Development since August 2022, focusing on industry retention and regional recruitment in Georgia's coastal region. Prior to this, Dorie was Executive Director of the Screven County Development Authority for over a decade, where significant achievements included promoting Sylvania-Screven County for business growth and attracting notable industries such as ELK Group International. Dorie’s earlier roles include Tourism Coordinator for the City of Douglas, where event planning and marketing were key responsibilities, and Director of Entrepreneur and Small Business Services at the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, supporting emerging businesses and economic initiatives. Dorie holds a Master of Public Administration from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The University of Georgia.
