Shariyf Muhammad

Shariyf Muhammad has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Shariyf most recently served as the Director of Health Law and Policy at the Georgia Department of Human Services since 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at the Georgia Department of Community Health, including Director of Legal Services in the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division and Senior Legal Services Manager. Shariyf also worked as a Senior Associate Attorney at The Baig Firm. Earlier in their career, Shariyf was a Legal Services Officer at the Georgia Department of Community Health, where they litigated adverse actions and provided legal analysis and recommendations. Shariyf has also served as an Administrative Hearing Officer at the Georgia Department of Labor and worked as an Attorney at Law in their private practice. Shariyf's experience also includes working as an Assistant District Attorney at Barrow County.

Shariyf Muhammad completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Anthropology and Human Biology from Emory University from 1998 to 2002. Shariyf then pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the University of Georgia School of Law from 2003 to 2006. Shariyf further enhanced their education by obtaining a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a field of study in Public Administration from UGA School of Public and International Affairs from 2016 to 2021.
