David Slovensky

SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Georgia Power

David Slovensky serves as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Georgia Power. He also serves as the company’s chief compliance officer. In this role, he oversees the company’s Corporate Services, Compliance, Land, Legal Services and Security functions and is a member of the company’s management council. Prior to this position, Slovensky served as senior vice president, general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer for Southern Company Gas, where he provided leadership for the company’s Legal Affairs, Corporate Security and Corporate Secretary functions as well as its compliance and ethics program.

Slovensky previously served as vice president and associate general counsel for Southern Company Gas. In that role, he was responsible for the legal support to the company’s distribution operations, and he created and lead its information security and records management functions. Slovensky also served for two years as vice president in the Southern Company Services legal function. Slovensky joined Southern Company Gas in 2004 as chief litigation counsel after nine years in private practice. In the community, David currently serves on the Board of Trustees for CareerSpring, a non-profit organization focused on career development for first-generation and low-income students, and has previously served on the boards of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School and the American Heart Association, and as a fundraising chair for the Marist School in Atlanta.

Slovensky earned the Baccalaureaus Artium et Scientiae degree from the University of South Carolina and a juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Slovensky and his wife live in Atlanta with their three children.
