Emmalee Hackshaw has a diverse background in community engagement and nonprofit consulting. Emmalee currently holds the position of Vice President for Community Engagement at Georgia Public Broadcasting, where they previously served as the Director of Community Engagement. Prior to their time at Georgia Public Broadcasting, Emmalee worked as a self-employed nonprofit consultant, specializing in fundraising and program development for organizations such as the Museum of Design Atlanta and Atlanta Public Schools. Emmalee is also a co-founder and board member of the Liberia Orphan Education Project, a nonprofit organization that provides educational support to teachers in Liberia. Additionally, Emmalee has worked in development roles at the International Community School, The Atlanta Opera, and the Dozier Centre for the Performing Arts. Emmalee has also gained experience in marketing and sales through their roles at the Metro Atlanta American Red Cross and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Overall, Emmalee brings a wealth of experience in community engagement and nonprofit management to their current position at Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Emmalee Hackshaw earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from East Carolina University in the years 1996 to 2000. Emmalee then pursued a Master of Science degree in Arts Administration at Shenandoah University from 2002 to 2004.
