M. Brian Blake

Brian Blake currently serves as President of Georgia State University since June 2021, previously holding the position of Executive Vice President and Provost at The George Washington University, where oversight of all academic programs for 28,000 students was a key responsibility. Blake has extensive experience in academic leadership, having served as Executive Vice President and Provost at Drexel University, where implementation of a responsibility-centered management budget model was led, and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of Miami, overseeing graduate programs across multiple disciplines. Additional leadership roles include Director of Research and Development at Cleared Solutions Inc. and Full Professor at the University of Notre Dame, where significant growth in research grants and graduate programs was achieved. Blake holds a PhD in Information and Software Engineering from George Mason University and has a notable career in both academia and consultancy, specializing in service-oriented architecture and information technology.
