Michael Parkerson is the Interim VP of Government & Community Affairs at Georgia State University. Prior to this, they were the Deputy Director of Operations at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) from April 2012 to October 2013. Michael also worked as the Fiscal Services Director at the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia from January 2011 to March 2012. Michael Parkerson began their career in 2007 as the Director of Homeland Security at the Georgia Department of Agriculture where they worked until 2010.

Michael Parkerson has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from The University of Georgia and an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Middle Georgia College.
