James Groombridge began their education at Dover College from 1959 to 1961, where they pursued S and A levels in Geography, History, and Chemistry. Following this, they attended Reading University from 1961 to 1964, earning a BSc(Hons) degree in the fields of Geology, Chemistry, and Zoology. Lastly, from 1999 to 2000, James pursued further education at Durham University, where they obtained an MSc degree in Geophysics.
