Melissa Austin

Melissa Austin has extensive work experience in human resources and workplace relations. Melissa is currently working as a Manager of Workplace Relations at Geoscience Australia since August 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Human Resources Director at Relationships Australia Canberra & Region from June 2021 to June 2023.

Before joining Relationships Australia, Melissa held various roles at the Australian National University. Melissa served as the Deputy Director of Human Resources from September 2015 to April 2021. Before that, they were the (Acting) Associate Director - Human Resources from February 2013 to September 2015, and a Human Resources Manager from February 2010 to February 2013.

Melissa also has experience as a Human Resources Manager at Cowra Shire Council from June 2003 to January 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Recruitment Consultant at Chandler Macleod from February 2001 to June 2003. Melissa started their career as a Staff (HR) Manager at David Jones from May 1999 to December 2000. Before that, they worked as a Human Resources Manager at Target from March 1996 to May 1999.

Melissa Austin attended Western Sydney University from 1989 to 1992, where they pursued a degree in Commerce. Their studies focused on the fields of Marketing and Personnel.
