The GAOI is a not-for-profit association that works to advance the geothermal heat pump industry in Illinois. Members include heat-ventilating contractors who specialize in geothermal heat pumps, looping contractors who install the ground-source loops, engineers, utllity representatives, architects and others associated with the industry. Geothermal heat pumps use the earth's natural heating, transfering that energy indoors, and are the most efficient heating and cooling systems available today. Geo systems typically reduce energy consumption by 50 percent for heating, cooling and water heating.
