Tom O'Brien

Tom O'Brien has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Tom is currently the Vice President and Head of Quality at GeoVax Labs, Inc. since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Quality Consultant at Sleath mode from October 2022 to March 2023. From October 2020 to August 2022, they served as the Head of Quality at Vedanta Biosciences, Inc.

Before joining Vedanta Biosciences, Inc., Tom held the position of Senior Director of Quality at Genocea from 2016 to 2020. Tom worked as an Associate Director of Internal QA Operations at Shire from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Director of QA at Pfizer from 2005 to 2012.

Earlier in their career, Tom held roles such as QC Manager at Wyeth BioPharma from 2000 to 2005, QC Associate Scientist/Supervisor at Wyeth Biotech (formerly Genetics Institute) from 1996 to 2000, and QC Associate at Genetics Institute from 1993 to 1996.

Throughout their career, Tom O'Brien has gained valuable experience and expertise in quality management and assurance within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Tom O'Brien attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1989 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology.
