Christoph Neumann (ノイマン クリストフ)

CTO at German Autolabs

Christoph Neumann has over 18 years of experience in the field of language and voice technology. Christoph Neumann started their career in 2002 as a Language Scientist, Machine Translation at Cross Language Inc., where they researched, designed and coded components for commercial Japanese-English and Japanese-Korean machine translation software. Christoph Neumann also spearheaded an innovative Japanese-English patent translation software and led its design and implementation from scratch to production, securing partial government funding in the process. In 2006, they joined Asahi Kasei Speech Solutions as a Senior Language Scientist, where they designed and coded solutions modeling human voice and language patterns, as well as supervised interface localization for Europe. Christoph Neumann also designed and implemented a NLU approach for the company from scratch. From 2008 to 2017, Neumann worked at Nuance Communications as a Senior Project Manager NLU, where they designed and led implementation of innovative software projects for voice and language, mainly in the Japanese and European auto and electronics industry. Christoph Neumann also sold NLU voice interface to a major Japan car maker. In 2017, they became the R&D Lead (NLU) Bixby Germany at Samsung. In 2019, they were appointed CEO of EasyDialog, and in 2020, they became the CTO of German Autolabs.

Christoph Neumann obtained a Doctor of Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in the field of Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics. Prior to this, they completed a Aufbaustudium Computerlinguistik (CIS) / Graduate Studies in Natural Language Processing at the Technical University of Munich. Christoph Neumann also holds a Master’s Degree in Sciences du Language / Linguistics from Université Bordeaux Montaigne (ex - Bordeaux 3), as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Japonais L.E.A. / Japanese from the same university.
