Elke Maes is an experienced research technician with a strong background in biotechnology and neurodegenerative disease research. Currently employed at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) since May 2020, Elke has previously held positions at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences as a Senior Research Technician, where work focused on evaluating novel feed ingredients for fish and pig cell lines. Earlier roles include serving as a Scientific Assistant at Oslo University Hospital, managing a biobank for a clinical study, and establishing a new laboratory at the University of Oslo. Additional experience spans research positions at the University of Bristol, imec, and KU Leuven, contributing to projects related to hypoxia, Alzheimer's disease, and neuronal cultures. Elke Maes holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from KATHO Roeselare (VIVES).
